Surface Modification

Change of Formulation

Change of Roughness and Topography

Application type (Spray coating, solvent-nonsolvent method, dip coating and …)

Use of nanoparticles (Hydrophobic or hydrophilic depending on the application)

Surface topography more important than superhydrophobicity

Nanoscale topography highly inhibits the cell adhesion compared to microscale

Study on the effects of non-solvent bath and nanoparticle concentrations on PLAGLTMC terpolymers

Such cell repellent behavior could be very useful in many biomedical devices such as those in drug delivery and blood contacting applications as well as biosensors.
