Mohammad Davachi

Associate Professor

Dr. Seyed Mohammad Davachi is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biology at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). He is a polymer engineer by training. He earned his BS in Polymer Engineering from Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch, and subsequently completed his MS and PhD in Polymer/Chemical Engineering at the University of Tehran. Dr. Davachi served as an Assistant Professor of Chemical and Polymer Engineering at Islamic Azad University, Central Tehran Branch (IAUCTB), from 2016 to 2019. In 2019, he joined Cornell University as a Postdoctoral Associate. In 2021, he joined the Department of Biology and Chemistry at Texas A&M International University. His research focuses on polymer science and engineering, including polymer synthesis, processing, characterization, rheology, and structure–property relationships; polymer nanocomposites and composites; polymer interfaces and surface engineering; functional and stimuli-responsive polymers and hydrogels; biodegradable, sustainable, and bio-based polymers; biomaterials and tissue engineering; micro- and nanoencapsulation and controlled drug delivery; and advanced polymer processing and additive manufacturing/3D printing, with applications in biomedical, food, packaging, and environmental systems.
